Happy New Year!

Another year, another adventure. Where does the time go? I can't believe I will be planning Kylie's 1st Birthday soon. It makes me sad to miss all the precious stages that have past and so happy and excited for all the great things to come.

Molly has been out of school for winter break for a few weeks and will start back on Wednesday. We have been doing lots of trips to the park, zoo, library and playing with friends. We have had a great time, but I am ready to get back on our schedule. I think she misses it too because she has asked a few times how long her teachers are on vacation for?

We have been busy taking down ALL the Christmas decorations over the weekend and now our house looks empty in comparison. You never realize how much stuff you have! I thought Molly was about to cry when we took the tree to the curb. She seems worried about Santa since we have been taking everything down. Today I caught her having a tea party in her room with Santa. She was filling up many cups of milk for his long trip. It is so funny to listen to them when they don't know you are there.

Kylie is doing great! She has 1 tooth through and more on the way. She has been giving Molly big, open mouthed, slobbery kisses recently - none for mom and dad. We have been trying more table foods lately and there isn't anything she won't eat - just the opposite of Molly. She ate a whole scrambled egg for breakfast and munched on green beans and carrots last night.

That's all for now. I will try to get more pictures up soon. Wishing you all the best for 2009!!!

Christmas Time

Decorating for Christmas is big around the Evans house. I think Bob and Molly look forward to it all year long. Our light display gets bigger and bigger every year and Bob says "it's just for the kids" - sure! I am a little behind getting the pictures up, we have had the lights and tree done since Thanksgiving. Both girls had been sick with the croup which lasted a lovely 2 weeks. We got over that and then Molly and I came down with a flu bug yesterday. Molly is doing much better today, but I am still lagging behind.

Molly had her Christmas program for school on the 15th and it was great. No repeat episodes of the ballet dancing on stage that occurred last year. The school lines up on stage and sings about 8 different Christmas songs. Molly's favorite was Feliz Navidad - go figure! In the middle of the last song she did announce to a packed church that she had to go potty. At least she keeps it interesting for us!

Kylie has been a crab the last two days and now we know why - WE HAVE TEETH, FINALLY! Today we can feel the bottom two starting to poke through. She had her 9 month checkup this week and is still hanging out near the top of the chart for height and weight. She is just under 20 lbs. and is 29 inches tall. Bob calls her Sasquash, oh how feminine. She is getting more and more comfortable on her feet and is furniture cruising at top speed.

I have lots of pictures so I am going to attempt putting them in a slide show. Hope it works!

Have a very Merry Christmas!!!

Thanksgiving Weekend

We hope you all had a Happy Turkey Day! My parents come over to enjoy the day with us. We ate lots of great food and were completely stuffed! Before we ate, Molly said she would like to sing a Thanksgiving song for us. The song was NEVER ENDING, but she sang her little heart out and it is moments like those that make Thanksgiving so special! Kylie shoveled in mashed potatoes and Molly ate all the cornbread on the table.

It was off to bed early for us because mom had a plan for Black Friday. My mom picked me up at 4:30 and we were off. The crowds weren't too awful and we did find lots of great deals. Definitely worth waking up a little bit earlier.

Saturdays Main Event - GOOOOO GATORS!!!
What a great game! So sorry to my sister and brother-in-law (both FSU grads) who traveled all the way to Tallahassee for a nice butt kickin'.
For all you PA folks who noticed Molly's Penn State shirt in the last post, don't be fooled - they are really Gators at heart. We are already training (Bob says brainwashing) Kylie on the Gator Chomp. Here's a pic of Kylie getting a front row seat for the game.

Bob and Molly have been hard at work decorating for Christmas and I will post more pics soon.

Shaving Cream Art!

Making a mess can be so much fun - for Molly! We tried out a new "art" project this week and she loved it. We practiced writing words in the mess and learned what colors to mix together to make other colors. Our cat "Oscar" got in on the fun too - unwillingly! I left her alone on the patio for a few minutes to make lunch and went back out to find Oscar running around frantically trying to get all of the green foam off his back. It was the masterpiece she was the most proud of!

Kylie is growing like a weed and all she is wanting to do is stand! She tries to climb up my pant leg if I put her down and stands right up as soon as you put her in the bathtub. Molly is still her favorite form of entertainment and she crawls at warp speed to get in her room whenever she sees the door open. Still NO TEETH and she is ready to eat. I think she would eat a steak if I put one in front of her.

Kylie's first ride down a slide with Molly holding on tight!

Okay, so I got a lot of feedback from family and friends thinking this blogging thing is a good idea, so I will do my best to keep up with it. We'll see...
We have had a fun week. Molly has developed a new hobby of taking pictures with my camera. I was playing outside with her and Kylie on Thursday and had brought my camera outside. I took a few shots and she wanted a turn, of course. Ever since she has been walking around snapping shots. We now need to learn when and where it is appropriate to take pictures of people (don't worry, I won't post any of those) Good thing you can delete pics easily on a digital camera!
I took Molly to see the new Madagascar movie Saturday evening. It was her 2nd movie experience and we had a great time. We had to get a booster seat for her to sit in because she doesn't weigh enough to hold the seat down and it kept popping up with her in it - pretty funny!
Today we had a birthday party day. We went to a party this afternoon for one of Molly's school friends. She discovered Moon Sand and played with it for half of the party. Later, we went to her cousin Luke's 2nd Birthday Party at, where else...My Gym! I know, y'all never would have guessed! Luke is getting to be such a big boy and is so cute! Both girls had a great time and Kylie loved showing off her new skills, clapping and waving.
Here are a few pics from the week- in the first one, Molly is trying to kiss Luke and he wasn't too excited about it.

Happy Halloween

Hope you all had a happy Halloween! Our day started with a costume parade at Molly's school. It was very cute! Molly loved her long, flowing, RED Ariel wig. The kids all paraded around and marched up on stage for pictures. Molly is such a ham and loved every minute. In the afternoon we went to a friend's house for a little party. She had a baby petting farm and ponies there for the kids. Molly loved all of the baby animals, especially the baby bunnies she got to hold. Kylie was fascinated by all of the animals walking around and sniffing her.

When we started to get the girls dressed in the evening for trick-or-treating, Bob asked where my costume was plenty loud enough for Molly to hear - THANKS BOB. I climbed up in the attic and brought down a box of costumes (left over from all the My Gym parties over the years) and Molly chose a Camelot Princess one for me. I was the ONLY mom walking around the neighborhood in costume. Oh well, Molly thought it was funny!

Kylie didn't mind being in her flower costume and did pretty good riding around in the wagon. She lasted about 45 minutes then went back to the house with Bob to hand out candy. Molly and I continued on until her bucket couldn't possibly hold any more-SUCCESS!
